How do you price your cakes?

We price cakes based on a number of different factors. Every six months, we perform a competitive market analysis of bakeries that sell cakes and pastries most comparable to our products. The technical complexity of the design, the amount of servings and the time required to produce the final cake are all factors of the overall price. Then the time & cost for creation sugar flowers (sometimes 8+ hours/flower) and any additional features is calculated and added.

We believe in quality products at an affordable price for our clients. Many comparable wedding cakes start at $800 and can be well over $3000. Taxes are included in the prices as shown

Are all of  your products gluten free, nut free, dairy free, etc.?

The cost of ingredients factors in depending on the dietary requirements. 

We use a similar competitive market analysis to price all of our dietary restricted products

Why are there "starting" prices?

Each cake we make is unique and pricing depends on the individual request for design and dietary needs. We use ingredients such as almond flour in our gluten free products which is one of our most expensive ingredients and we only use the freshest fruits and real vanilla beans. All of our products are made to order ensuring the best flavours and that your order hasn't been sitting.

Things like gold leaf, hazelnuts, handmade flowers etc. affect the pricing and will be calculated at the time of your order

 

 

I want a layered cake and want to cut down on price.

Can I order a cake with false tiers?

As fake tiers still need to be decorated and assembled, the cost does not significantly decrease and we do not offer false tiers at this time

How do I order a cake?

The preferred method is for us to speak with you directly in order to best discuss the vision for your cake along with any dietary requirements and finally review the pricing

How much do you require for a deposit?

For wedding cakes we require a 50% non-refundable deposit in order to secure your date and get started with purchasing the necessary ingredients for your cake. Alternatively, a $200 deposit is acceptable to secure your date if your have yet to decide on your final order.

A $50 fully refundable deposit is required for stand rentals and $100 deposit for tower rentals. Equipment must be returned to us within three (3) days for your event in order to secure your deposit as they are often needed for other events and will need to be purchased and rush ordered if not retuned.

When should I order my cake?

We recommend that you place your order a minimum of two (2) months in advance as dates tend to book early. Many of our weddings book more than a year in advance. The more notice we have, the better, especially for custom and more complex designs  

What if I had a particular design in mind? Can I bring in a photo?

Absolutely! You can e-mail something you saw online (Pinterest has many great ideas) to us and we can discuss the potential during your consultation and offer suggestions. Keep in mind that we specialize in sugar flowers and our use of fondant is limited

My event is this weekend! Can I still place an order on short notice?

Rush orders are available and are subject to an additional fee. Rush orders are accepted on a case-by-case basis depending on capacity 

Is delivery available?

Delivery is available for all wedding cakes. The delivery fee will be assessed when you place your order. Our other products are pick-up items. Exceptions for certain items apply.
